| It's become apparent since I've been off line for 5 years, that some think I'm not working on my railroad women's research project. It couldn't be further from the truth. My husband became ill and I just took time out. The website is up again and I will be making updates to this page as often as possible. | |||||||||||||||||
| The American Railroad Women's exhibit was at Overland Station, in Topeka, KS in Feb-March
I was guest editor for Railroad Heritage Magazine, Center for Railroad Photography and Art and invited two other writers to be contributors, Doug Riddell, Amtrak engineer, author and writer for several railroad magazines and Linda Neimann, author, teacher and former SP employee. If you're interested in the finer side of railroad history, check out this site. They produce a great magazine and have several traveling exhibits and an annual conference.. Encyclopedia of North American Railroads is completed and should be in the stores soon. Linda Neimann and I were contributors and wrote a synopsis of railroad women's history. The Railroad women's history book is near completion, just a bit lengthy, but not quite as huge as the Harry Potter books. A railroad book publisher is interested in it, but they would like it smaller. Yikes, there are volumes about railroads and men, give us break and give the "girls" their due! A couple of other railroad projects may be coming up this year. Just nothing definite yet. |

The American Railroad Women's exhibit was displayed at Union Pacific Railroad headquarters in Omaha, NE during women's history month. Scanning and cataloging images for digital shows for DVD's both for railroad women topics and generic railroad shows using my husband, Richard Steinheimer and my images.
